Training

Cork Volunteer Centre offers a number of standard training courses for organisations designed by Volunteer Ireland, promoting best practice in volunteer management. Our trainers are QQI Level 6 accredited and have completed additional training with Volunteer Ireland. They also bring a wealth of practical experience to the training they deliver.

Volunteer Leadership Training 

(VLT) is run a number of times per year aimed at non-profit organisations who already involve volunteers in their service. 

The training course follows a modular format and is delivered by trained members of staff from Cork Volunteer Centre.

Attendance at all four modules is required for successful completion of the course. The training is tailored for delivery to those within organisations who are responsible for

(1) Planning volunteer programmes;
(2) Recruiting & selecting volunteers;
(3) Supervising volunteers;
(4) Maintaining and overseeing the volunteer policy within the organisation.

Places are limited to 25 participants per course and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We anticipate demand for this course will be high. However, we will operate a waiting list system in the event of cancellations.

Our next Volunteer Leadership Training date is on February 7th & 8th. The fee is €100 for an individual.

Places on the training will be confirmed by a member of staff. Zoom links and supporting documents will only be made available on receipt of payment.

Module 1 Planning for Volunteer Involvement: April 8th 2025 – 10.30am – 1pm
Module 2 Recruiting and Selecting Volunteers: April 8th 2025- 2pm – 4pm
Module 3 Supervising and Retaining Volunteers: April 9th 2025 – 11am – 1pm
Module 4 Overseeing Volunteer Policies within your Organisation : April 9th 2025 – 2pm – 4pm
