FreeKIERAN O’CONNELL – ENGAGING COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY GROUPS: BALLYPHEHANE 1916-2016
KIERAN O’CONNELL IS CURRENTLY EMPLOYED IN CORK CITY COUNCIL AS A SOCIAL INCLUSION DEVELOPMENT WORKER. KIERIAN WORKED AND VOLUNTEERED IN THE COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY SECTOR SINCE 1982. HE IS A QUALIFIED SOCIAL CARE WORKER AND WORKED IN RESIDENTIAL CHILD CARE FROM 1990-2008. HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A COMMUNITY YOUTH DRUGS WORKER FROM 2010-201. KIERAN WILL SPEAK ABOUT VOLUNTEERING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. IN PARTICULAR, HE WILL FOCUS ON BEST PRACTICE FOR ENGAGING COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY GROUPS, BASED ON HIS EXPERIENCE WITH THE BALLYPHEHANE 1916-2016 PROJECT.
DAVID O’BRIEN – PUBLIC PARTICIPATION NETWORK.
DAVID O’BRIEN IS CURRENTLY ATTACHED TO THE RAPID/COMMUNITY AND ENTERPRISE SECTION IN CORK CITY COUNCIL WITH RESPONSIBILITIES FOR FOUR RAPID AREAS (MAYFIELD, THE GLEN, BLACKPOOL AND FAIRHILL/FARRANREE). HE ACTS AS LIAISON WITH THE COMMUNITY AND SEVERAL OTHER ROLES INCLUDING PPN CONTACT AND ORGANISER OF THE JOINT POLICING COMMITTEE (JPC). HIS PRESENTATION WILL FOCUS ON HIS ROLE AS CONTACT POINT WITH THE PPN AND HIS WORK AS RAPID COORDINATOR.
