This webinar looks at the Charities Governance Code principle 1: Advancing your charitable
purpose, and principle 2: Behaving with integrity.

Outcomes:
 Be aware of your organisation’s charitable purpose
 Ensure that your organisation provides public benefit
 Understand why ethics are fundamental to your organisation
 Ensure that your board develops and adheres to a Code of Conduct

Target audience:
Trustees/managers of registered charities, board members/managers of community and
voluntary organisations that intend to register as charities.

Trainer:

Derek O’Reilly is Training Manager at Carmichael. He coordinates and delivers Carmichael’s
training and development programmes, customised training and consultancy services for
boards and managers. Derek has many years’ experience of governance, management and
quality assurance of community organisations in Ireland, Africa and Eastern Europe and is an
assessor for the Good Governance Awards. He has developed and delivered training
programmes on behalf of statutory bodies as well as a wide range of nonprofits around the
country.
